Labral Injury Treatment and Recovery, Explained by Ohio State Sports Medicine

For many, micro-trauma to the labrum due to repetitive motion of the arm calls for conservative management techniques, including physical therapy and/or anti-inflammatory medications. For those with acute traumatic injury, surgical treatment may be the answer.

In this video, Dr. Grant Jones explains what the labrum is, how it can be injured, what treatments are available, and what recovery will be like after a labral repair procedure.

Dr. Jones understands the need to get back to sport as soon as possible after injury. As director of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's shoulder division within Ohio State Sports Medicine, he specializes in the treatment of labrum tears and trauma.
