Echos of empowerment: amplifying Native voices while finding my own | Leah Lemm | TEDxSilver Lake

The main point of this talk will answer why we should seek to help others with the very issue we may be facing in our own lives. I lived for 30 years with my voice stuck in my throat and speaking even with a small group of familiar people induced overwhelming anxiety. It was only when I switched my life's focus from tech to helping others tell their own stories, that I was able to speak my own truths out loud. Leah Lemm is a citizen of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe and spends her time sharing stories from Native communities around Minnesota. She's worked in public media for over 15 years.
