'It's an act of moral cowardice!' Julia attacks Labour MP for not opposing government Covid measures

Julia Hartley-Brewer has questioned "what is the point" of the Labour Party being in opposition to the government if they "don't oppose" and abstain their vote on coronavirus restrictions.

Speaking on her talkRADIO breakfast show, Julia was interviewing Labour MP and Shadow Business Minister Lucy Powell ahead of the important vote in the Commons on Tuesday, saying the decision to abstain is "an act of moral cowardice by saying we don’t want to take any responsibility".

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said the party would be abstaining in Tuesday’s Commons vote on the coronavirus restrictions.

He said: “Coronavirus remains a serious threat to the public’s health and that’s why Labour accept the need for continued restrictions. We will always act in the national interest, so we will not vote against these restrictions in Parliament.
