Gocom GD900 Radios: Nice!! FRS or GMRS??

A gear item that intrigues me, but I am TOTALLY a novice is hand held/HAM radios. I have dabbled with "walkie-talkies" in the past yet never took the deeper dive into long range radios. In this video we look at the GoCom GD900 which to my knowledge can operate as a short range FRS radio or long range GMRS radio...but the whole legal requirements and licensing still has me a bit baffled. Take a look with me for the first time as I check these out for a basic function and range test as I try to determine how these would work for my needs.
