In June 1983, South Korea's KBS News began a live televised campaign to reunite family members that were displaced during the nation's bloody civil war. 456 hours later, the program managed to reunite 10,189 family members.

Through televised family reunions, this small east asian nation captured the world's imagination and bridged the gap between its war and post-war generations. In 2015 the Broadcast was officially registered as a UNESCO World Memory. The 456 hours of Live TV have been digitalised and is available to watch at
