The 2S4 Tyulpan (often spelled Tulpan, English: tulip) is a Soviet 240 mm self-propelled heavy mortar. Excluding rockets, the Russian 240 mm Mortar M240 — both the 2S4 vehicle and towed M240 systems — is the largest caliber land-based artillery weapon in use. No Western army today operates tube artillery as large-caliber as the M240/2S4. Super heavy 240mm mortars will fight in a network-centric war and exchange data with drones. They will be upgraded to destroy the most complicated targets by precision smart munitions. The Tulip can destroy practically all concrete shelters and defense fortifications. The artillery system is designed to destroy fortified buildings and erections, troops and armor accumulations, as well as targets invulnerable for other artillery guns. The mortar became operational in 1971.

На этом расстоянии фугасные мины "Тюльпанов" способны уничтожить укрепленные здания, живую силу и бронетехнику противника. Машина с орудием калибра 240 мм — самая крупная в "цветочной" серии таких артиллерийских систем, как "Гвоздика", "Акация", "Гиацинт" и "Пион". Все они состоят на вооружении Ракетных войск и артиллерии Сухопутных войск России.
