How to Rebuild a Caliper: Subaru Forester Detailed Procedure
This video shows how to rebuild a 2007 Subaru Forester front caliper. This video will work with single and multiple piston calipers with this type of caliper on most makes and models. This procedure will leave you with a perfectly working cost effective caliper that is as good or better than a purchased rebuilt caliper. A rebuilt caliper can cost around $100, but doing the labor yourself allows you to keep your original OEM caliper for around $15-$35. It is recommended to do both calipers since the other side my fail as well. You will need to bleed breaks after this procedure. The clean-up process of the caliper is not required for the proper operation of the new caliper, this was done purely for cosmetics. Cleaning the rusted seal seatings with a brass wire Dremel wheel is recommended, if not acid washing or media blasting. Hope this video is helpful to you.
