Lets start off by defining the 5 ways you can obtain exotic weapons in destiny 2 as a free-to-play player. Xur is an exotic vendor that will come to the game every Friday at the daily reset, 12pm est, but his location and loot changes every single week. Simply click the card on screen now to be taken to a playlist of videos showing where he is every week and click on the last video in the playlist for the current week. Xur sells one exotic armor piece for each class per week for 23 legendary shards, a random exotic weapon every week for 29 legendary shards, and an exotic engram each week for 97 legendary shards and additional engrams can be purchased for exotic ciphers. Next we have exotic quests, which currently there are only 2 in the game for free-to-play players. Additionally, we have the season pass. 1 exotic can be earned every season in destiny 2 as a free-to-play player by reaching rank 35 in the pass. And Lastly we have exotic archive or the monument to lost lights located by the vault in the tower. This has some exotic no longer available that can be purchased for varies currencies.

Almost every “world drop” exotic weapon can also be found in Xur’s rotating inventory with 1 exceptions. Borealis Is the only exotic weapon available exclusively from world drops But not sold by Xur. Rat King exotic sidearm which costs: 1 exotic cipher, 100,000, 150 helium filaments known as planetary materials from the moon and 1 ascendant shard.

Sleeper Simulant exotic heavy linear fusion rifle which costs: 1 exotic cipher, 125,000 glimmer, 200 baryon bough known as planetary materials from the dreaming city and 1 ascendant shard.

Worldline zero exotic heavy sword which costs: 1 exotic cipher, 125,000 glimmer, 200 glacial starwort known as planetary materials from Europa and 1 ascendant shard.

Polaris Lance exotic scout rifle which costs: 1 exotic cipher, 125,000 glimmer, 200 spinmetal known as planetary materials from Cosmodrome and 1 ascendant shard.

Legend Of Arcius exotic heavy shotgun which costs: 1 exotic cipher, 150,000 glimmer, 240 spoils of conquest which are only available from coming raid encounters and 2 ascendant shards.
