"In the wake of the Polish liberators' tells the story of the tens of thousands of Polish soldiers who fought in World War II. Their motto was "for your and our freedom." 70 years ago they released the Breda Area. They had the hope to liberate their homeland too, but were disappointed. Many lived for decades in exile in several countries in Western Europe. We follow the life of the Polish general Stanislaw Maczek who was born in 1892 in Lvov and at died in Edinburgh at the age of 102. He is buried among his men in the Polish military cemetery in Breda. Maczeks life story is a true model for what many Polish men of his generation experienced. In the film, eyewitnesses, experts and children of Polish war veterans tell us how the Polish Liberators before, during and especially after the war experienced their lives. The film was shot in various locations in the Netherlands, Poland and Scotland.
