Simple how-to: Change headlight bulbs, Ford Focus Mk1

Easy DIY how to: replacing headlight bulbs on a Ford Focus (Mk I). Changing the headlamp bulbs on a Focus is trickier than ideal, on account of the limited space available for hands and fingers behind the light assemblies. The low (dipped) beams can be particularly frustrating.

Some other guides are a little OTT with advice to remove the battery or even the front bumper. But it can either be done in situ, or it is (relatively) simple to remove the whole light assembly to work on it out of the car.

You will need:
* New bulbs as required -

- Sidelight bulbs: T10 W5W wedge
* Latex gloves (important)
* Flashlight
To remove headlights:
* Socket wrench with 10 mm hex socket, plus extension bar
To do in situ:
* Small mirror, e.g. make-up or dental
