Whistle 3 GPS Pet tracker field demo. PetsLoveWhistle SEE IMPORTANT UPDATE BELOW
This is to show how the GPS tracker actually works in the field.
CRITICAL UPDATE 09/20/2021
The Whistle 3 GPS Pet Tracker reviewed here uses 3G cell service with AT&T. Unfortunately, AT&T is discontinuing 3G service in February of 2022. I'm told by the Whistle Support Team that the older Whistle 3 GPS Pet Track will no longer work after that date! However, the newer Whistle Go Explore uses 4G and will continue to work just fine. It is basically the same price as the 3 GPS was. The subscription cost is also the same. The 3 GPS is an old unit. It has been out for years. I've had mine for about 6 years now. I also have the new Whistle Go Explore and did a review on it over a year ago. The video link is below. If you are going to purchase a Whistle, make sure you order the newer unit. I'm not actually sure the older unit is still available on the web site. DON'T PURCHASE ONE FROM ANYONE OTHER THAN WHISTLE. YOU MAY GET THE OLD 3G UNIT INSTEAD.
UPDATE 12/18/2019
I just finished a review of the new Whistle Go Explore at https://youtu.be/z40F96p55Xs
UPDATE 10/09/2019
I want to update what you can expect out of the battery. I have had this particular Whistle GPS Pet Tracker for well over a year now. I last charged the battery on Friday October 4th. I have had three tracking sessions since then. Tracking generally uses more power than just the monitoring mode. Today, Wednesday 10/09/2019, I got a low battery alert in my email account. The alert said that I had 24% battery left. That would be approximately 2 more days in monitoring mode. Possibly a day and a half in Tracking mode. So in my opinion the battery is holding up quite well.
More information from Whistle Tech Support.
The Whistle Go models have a longer battery life than Whistle 3. The Whistle Go has a battery life of up to 10 days and the Whistle Go Explore has a battery life of up to 20 days. Both the Whistle Go models now use AT&T's 4G LTE network which is a lot stronger and offers more coverage nationwide, as opposed to the Whistle 3 using AT&T's 3G network. The Whistle Go Explore also has a Nightlight on the device itself which can be activated through the app.
