Mega manufacturing plans of Suzuki in Gujarat; E-vehicles, Lithium Ion Batteries, Export and more

Mr Hisanori Takashiba, MD, TDSG shared details about the Japan-Gujarat Business engagements and future investments towards EV manufacturing in the state, at the Session on 'Gujarat's G20 Connect' during #B20InceptionMeeting at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.

Mr. Hisanori Takashiba said, “Suzuki Group and its partners have invested Rs 23,000 crore in Gujarat and generated 47,000 employment. We are investing Rs 10,000 crore for EV manufacturing facility, a battery plant for EV, and a vehicle recycling plant in Gujarat. Gujarat can lead India’s journey in net zero carbon.”

TDSG is the India’s first Lithium-ion Battery manufacturing plant in Gujarat set up jointly by TOSHIBA Corporation, DENSO Corporation and Suzuki Motor Corporation to manufacture and supply Lithium-ion battery to Maruti Suzuki and Suzuki Motor Gujarat. The manufacturing operation is derived by Suzuki's expertize with contribution of TOSHIBA's cell technology and Denso's module technology.
