DIY Replace Mercedes W163 Auxiliary Water Pump without Draining Coolant ML350 ML500 M112 M113

Replace your Mercedes-Benz auxiliary water pump without draining the coolant on your ML Class (or other M112, M113 engine). Please note -- this is the electric powered auxiliary water pump, not the main pulley-driven water pump.

This procedure for the aux water pump applies to first generation ML's (also called W163), 1998 to 2005 (ML320, ML350, ML430, ML500, ML55), as well as some other MB models with the M112 (V6) and M113 (V8) engines.
