Doshin describes one view of individual stages of human development. There is something very unique and new that emerges at each particular stage of human development. These are actually emerging capacities of consciousness rather than merely intellectually learned accomplishments. The ability to really get this only emerges at the later stages of development. This makes it really tricky, almost impossible, to describe in an adequate way.
