Marble Demagnetizer - it's Mechanical! - Marble Machine X #23

Hey we found a solution to the problem of the magnetized marbles for the Marble Machine X! This demagnetizer / degausser is purely mechanical, just what i hoped for. By using disc magnets, with the polarities arranged in an alternate pattern we can very effectively demagnetize the marbles by letting them enter and exit the alternating magnetic field.

BTW I read on Wikipedia that magnetism is nowadays considered a truly quantum mechanical effect, one which can not be explained by classical physics. Maybe that's why we never stop being mesmerized by magnetism.
