Michelle Castles Wire Sculpture short preview
Wire Sculpture and how to make them.
From Michelles website
In 1998, Michelle graduated from the University of Sunderland. It was during her studies there that she began experimenting with wire mesh to create the sculptures for which she has since become renowned. Michelle’s work has been widely exhibited around the UK and beyond and she regularly undertakes private and public commissions.
Michelle will use varying sized welded mesh for her sculptures. In this video, Michelle is using 1/2" welded mesh and 1/4" for the marquettes.

About the Keswick Society Of Art
As well as holding regular afternoon meetings between September and May each year, the Society also runs numerous one or two day workshops featuring a number of well-known artists who offer tuition in a wide range of mediums.
Summer painting days are organised by a committee member, using a variety of different venues between April and September, and these provide a good opportunity to meet up with fellow members to enjoy a day’s painting out of doors, with kindred spirits.
Two exhibitions are held each year in the Congregational Hall, Lake Road in Keswick, which provides members with the chance to exhibit their work to the wider public, and the Theatre by the Lake also hosts an annual exhibition of members work.
Although we have always been commonly known as the Keswick Society of Art, our members are in fact drawn from as far afield as Cockermouth; Penrith; Kendal; Carlisle and many of the surrounding villages between these “outposts”, and we extend a welcome to all.
Please note, ALL of our videos are produced with the artists full permission and are recorded in one take, with no time for any rehearsals or retakes. So sorry for any recording errors.
We do hope that you enjoyed our video. Please call again soon to see our latest videos.
