To Cure periodontal disaese, desinfection is primordial. Cure gum disease. Dr Mark Bonner present in his own mouth (very intimate...) how to do morning and night. Stage III patients many times need a metronidazole course, so ask your dentist! Better is to have your dentist look at your microbes on the microscope every month until cured!
The cure is: no bleeding on brushing, no pathogen parasites and bacteria, excellent hygiene 2 times a day (10-10 minutes), no pocket depth over 3 mm, no contamination (spouse, parasite-infected water, family pets).
While healing your gum may recede a little if you have much horizontal bone loss from the past. It is normal! It will do as if surgery has been done but without any surgery. Make sure the dentist removes calculus progressively every month until you have none; none in the mouth, none at the X-ray. It is easy to remove as your gum does not bleed anymore, inflammation progressively goes away and your gumline is solid. Hairy tongue may appear while using H202 1% on the long run. Use tongue scraper daily to remove white or brownish color. It is not fungi.
Ask your dentist to learn how to cure periodontal disease, no surgery, no curetage. Only disinfection and repeated gentil detartrage with vibrating piezo style instrument. No scraping with sharp currets as it removes the cement needed for reattachment!
