8 Microsoft Flight Simulator Features That Blew My Mind
Microsoft Flight Simulator is one of the most impressive games I’ve played in years: simulating not just the planes, but the world under them. Enjoy this Microsoft Flight Simulator gameplay as I explain eight Flight Simulator features that blew my mind.

This isn’t my final Microsoft Flight Simulator review - this action was captured from a build of the Microsoft Flight Simulator alpha. I’ve been flying around the globe for the last two weeks, constantly being blown away by the scale of the world and the depth of its systems. Take the Microsoft Flight Simulator weather, for example, which is not only realistic, but lets you tweak it in real-time to adjust perfect conditions or set the time of day just so. Or those magnificent Flight Simulator cities, that use photogrammetry to accurately build entire landscapes to scale. You can even see the billboards in Times Square. It’s crazy stuff.
So while this isn’t a full MS Flight Simulator review, know that I am very impressed. Not just with the range of features, but how accessible it is: with a few tutorials even an idiot like me can take to the skies and start exploring. As you’ll see in this Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 gameplay, I go all over the globe - marvelling at how much nicer the ocean is outside of the UK - and take in the incredible cloud tech. Wait until you see those Microsoft Flight Simulator clouds for yourself: they’re better than the real thing. Mainly because you can get rid of them with the press of a button. That would be handy for picnics.
If you have any questions about Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, do pop them in the comments and I’ll do my best to answer them. We’ve got more videos coming up soon, so let me know if there’s any part of the globe you’d like to see in the next video. It’s honestly magic how accurate cities and the like look in this MS Flight Simulator gameplay. Thanks for flying with Rock Paper Shotgun and we’ll hopefully see you again soon.
