K1200RS Front & Rear Wheel Circuit Bleeding PART 1. 2003 K1200RS model Servo assisted brakes
This is Part 1 of bleeding your K1200RS (2003 model) Wheel Circuits. Part 2 will be of the Integral Servo assisted ABS unit bleeding procedure. Wheel circuits are bleed annually! For a good written step by step description go to I-BMW forum. (this is what I used for reference)
http://www.i-bmw.com/showthread.php?t=4385 my video will give you all the tips and step by step procedure to do your own bleeding. I-BMW forum is a great source for all your K-bike questions! I bled my brakes by myself, using regular bleeders. the trick is to keep your calipers mounted, so you don't have to hold it while opening the bleeders. i made some shims to allow you to keep both front and rear calipers mounted, saving time! at the end of the video i do replace one of the front bleeders with a speed bleeder to show how thats done as well. for speed bleeder sizes for your bike go to http://www.speedbleeders.com/ and select motorcycle and select your model for specific sizes. i highly recommend getting a speed bleeder bag too. You really don't need speed bleeders on your wheels as you only open them once and allow the servos to pump fluid out quickly. go to www.beemerboneyard.com for ABS funnel which is needed as well. Speed bleeder will be needed for ABS unit (front filler adapter) and clutch bleeding. i also put another video on how to remove all your fairings for access. for wheel circuit bleeding just remove aft right fairing and cover the rest of the bike to protect your paint! using all the info i found on the forum i decided to make a video showing the process since i couldn't find one! while I was home recovering from knee surgery, i figured i would record the process and try my hand at video editing! I got tired of editing, once I accidentally erased the video and had to start over again! Stay tuned for Part 2 ABS Servo Unit bleeding. And shortly after I will edit my clutch bleeding videos and make a Part 3. Hope this helps everyone! Its easy once you see how its done! If you have the older style ABS unit that has reservoirs on top, reference the web site below for excellent info on the subject. http://advwisdom.hogranch.com/Wisdom/service_abs3.pdf
DISCLAIMER!!! This is how i bleed my bike! Do yours at your OWN risk! I am not responsible for you or any damage to your bike! This is for reference only. Follow your Service manual instructions!
