5歳で渡米し10歳で帰国した元帰国子女。帰国後、逆カルチャーショックに苦しみながら英語力を保ち、東京大学へ。外資系企業に勤めたのち、28歳でハーバード経営大学院留学。
「人生で一番辛かった」子供時代の多言語多文化教育をサポートすべく、起業。20か国で述べ350名以上の海外帰国子女を支援する水田氏による、子供たちや、帰国子女の子供を持つご両親へのメッセージ。
