“Bella Champagne”
Optical Crystal Sculpture by Glass Artist Jack Storms
The Bella Champagne along with the Bella Vino was one of Storms’ first designs from his glass lathe. His idea was to address a form that would immediately be recognizable to his collectors. The appreciation of art has always come with the appreciation of sparkling wine. There could be no other form.
Each one of Jack Storms cold glass sculptures starts at the core, the artist cuts, grinds, polishes and laminates together the glass literally hundreds of times until he can get the core design he is looking for. Jack is known for using the theory of Fibonacci as reference for all of his glass designs. He then encases the core into optical crystal and hand sculpts each piece to shape. Each one of his glass sculptures takes from six to twenty four weeks to create and all of his pieces are original pieces of fine art. All of Jack Storms glass sculptures are done cold. There is no heat involved in the process whatsoever. The materials used on each one of Jack Storms’ glass sculptures are 32% optical lead crystal, optical crystal and dichroic glass.
Available Sizes:
Bella Champagne Standard: 12” H x 3” D
Bella Champagne XXMagnum: 17” H x 3.5”D
