Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel were among the heads of state invited by Brazilian leader Dilma Rousseff to watch the World Cup final match in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday. After a reception at the Laranjeiras Palace, motorcades whisked away the world leaders to the Maracana stadium where the game will take place.

After the World Cup last game, Putin is expected to join Rousseff, along with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian President Narendra Modi and South Africa's Jacob Zuma in the 6th BRICS summit in Fortaleza, Brazil.
