Nikolass Bertāns becomes the youngest drift champion in Latvia, Livonia and the Baltics at the age of 15!

Last weekend, in Riga, the final drift competition of the 2020 season "Baltic Grand Final" was held, in which the Latvian, Livonian, Baltic and Lithuanian drift champions were determined.

After this stage, Bertāns' closest competitor, Benediktas Čirba, took the second place in the Baltic overall standings, lagging behind Bertāns by 54 points, and the third place - the Estonian Oliver Randalu.

The athlete's own comment: “I am happy, of course, that I am happy with this result of the season. I started the 2020 season, already in January in Oman, which definitely gave me confidence at the beginning of the season. This summer turned out to be very intense and intense. The biggest competitors were my teammate Lithuanian Benediktas Čirba, who started in the last two stages with a borrowed car, which also prevented the fight to the end and the Estonian Oliver Randalu. The debut season and the title of champion is a very important achievement for me, but I understand that this is just the beginning of my career, I still have so much to learn, train, and seeing the performance of other Latvians this year, they will not let me win so easily next year. there will be a very fierce battle in the 2021 season, I know for sure, and I can't wait!
