Keeping excess Oil Out of your Air Intake System has great benefits.
It's no secret that GDI engines including the BMW N54 can suffer from oil control problems causing oil to blow by through the pressure that is created through the piston rings and excess oil in the intake system can coat the intercooler, charge piping and other components of the intake system. Causing gunk in the intake valves and the VANOS system, lowering the effective octane, and generally degrading engine performance. The higher your boost levels are, the more apparent these problems become. Therefore it makes it essential to install an Oil Catch Can.
