Key Fob Programming Mk6 Ford Transit van (2000 - 2006)

This is an example of how to program a replacement key fob for a Mk6 Ford Transit Van, 2000-2006.

This sequence should work on all Mk6 Transits, which were manufactured from 2000 - 2006. Here's the programming sequence, which was so easy:

Make sure doors are unlocked

Turn key from '0' to 'II' 8 times in quick succession
(less than 10 seconds), leaving it in the 'II' position

Door locks should actuate to signal you're in programming mode

Press the remote button

I pressed the lock button, but any should work

Door locks should actuate again to signal success

Remove key

It's that simple ! There are a few things to be aware of: First, I have read that you can repeat step 3 to program multiple fobs, but haven't tested this. Second, it's believed there's a limit of five fobs programmed before the central locking unit needs to be reset. I don't imagine many people will have an issue with this, but older vans might have already had multiple replacements. Third, the previous fob stopped working so I imagine if you want to use multiple fobs you have to repeat step 3 and program them all together, or each time you program one you'll invalidate the others.
This will save you a fortune compared to seeing the dealership or hiring a locksmith !
