How to remove and replace LG Refrigerator Ice Maker in the door part # AEQ72910411

Step-by-step instructions on how to replace the Ice Maker in the door on an LG refrigerator. This video shows the correct process for removing an LG ice maker. We commonly see people uninstall the old ice maker incorrectly, and if the original ice maker is not removed properly as shown in this video the electrical plugs will not match up when you go to install the new ice maker. When the ice maker fails it can stop producing ice and you may see that the ice tray is cracked or the ice maker temperature sensor wires are broken or worn through. If any parts of the ice maker fail, the entire ice maker assembly must be replaced as none of the individual parts of the ice maker are sold separately. The ice maker shown in this video is Part # AEQ72910411 (PD00029871) but the instructions in the video apply to many different part numbers and models of LG refrigerators.
