Honda EU3000i Handi Generator Review - Real-World Power Outage

In this video I will show you the basic operation of the Honda EU3000i Handi generator. We will connect the generator to my house through a 30 Amp receptacle and transfer switch that has been previously installed by a licensed electrician. We will start the generator and measure how loud it is when running in its two operating modes. We will go inside and find out which devices and appliances a generator of this size can run.

Then we will discuss how the EU3000i Handi performed in a real-world Pacific Gas and Electric Company Public Safety Power Shutoff that lasted almost four days. We will look at how efficient the generator was, how long it ran on a tank of fuel, how much fuel it used during the event, how this compares to the published specifications, and how to get the most out of the generator when using it for backup power.

We will review various reasons why I chose this generator over others that may have been less expensive. Finally, we will look at the cost of the EU3000i Handi as well as the cost to install a 30 Amp receptacle and a transfer switch.
