Loyola Marymount University's Department of Psychology presents a 7 Part Interview and Q&A Series called "Wednesday Night with a Master Therapist"

In the first segment of the Master Therapist series, LMU Psychology Professor, Richard Gilbert, interviews Dr. Andrew Christensen, Distinguished Research Professor at UCLA, about his influential work in the area of couple therapy. Following the interview, there will be a question and answer period with the audience.
Andrew Christensen, PhD is Distinguished Research Professor of Psychology at UCLA. He is the author of over 150 professional articles primarily on the topics of couple conflict and couple therapy. He is the co-author of the influential scholarly book, "Close Relationships." In addition, he has published a therapist-oriented volume, "Acceptance and Change in Couple Therapy: A therapist's guide for transforming relationships," with Neil S. Jacobson and a trade book for couples, "Reconcilable Differences," with Jacobson and Brian Doss, both of which describe their therapeutic approach, Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy.
Christensen and Jacobson conducted the largest clinical trial ever done evaluating the impact of couple therapy, including IBCT. IBCT has been adopted by the US Department of Veteran's Affairs as one of their evidence-based treatments.
With Brian Doss, Christensen has developed an internet-based treatment for couples based on IBCT and provided empirical support for its efficacy. Christensen has conducted many IBCT workshops both nationally and internationally. His clinical work and research have been featured in many prominent magazines and newspapers.
