Mass walkout at the UN Human Rights Council during Russia address

Russia's invasion of Ukraine has provoked a strong rebuke from NATO allies and the Prince of Wales.

There was a mass walkout at the UN Human Rights Council as Russia's Foreign Minister addressed members.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke remotely and suggested Russia could be kicked out of the UN Human Rights Council.

Prince Charles spoke out in defence of democracy and open society.

“We are seeing those same values under attack today in Ukraine in the most unconscionable way,” he said.

“In the stand we take here, we are in solidarity with all those who are resisting brutal aggression.”
