Catching Wild Salmon by Hand

Every year in early September thousands of mostly pink (Oncorhynchus gorbuscha) and chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) make the long journey from the sea to the rivers and streams where they were born to spawn and continue the cycle of life. During the voyage many salmon are not strong enough to complete the journey and die along the way. Some succeed in spawning and all give 100% of themselves and ultimately even those that succeed in spawning also die. The sick and dying fish are easy prey for sea birds, bears, and man. In this video I show just how easy it is to capture these salmon with the bare hands.
