The prime minister heads to Scotland to try and counter cabinet fears over rising support for Scottish independence.

Covid-19 has seen UK nations respond differently to the pandemic, at times in contrast with the Westminster government.

Boris Johnson’s visit follows a series of polls which seem to suggest there has been an increase of support for Scottish independence, as well as poor approval ratings for the prime minister’s handling of the pandemic compared to First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
