Maggie is a leader of the conscious consumerism movement uniting consumers, corporations, and the quality Black businesses that can rescue struggling communities and provide role models to Black youth. She's the author of "Our Black Year: One Family's Quest to Buy Black in America's Racially Divided Economy."

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
