I guess it was all a dream...? - Pokémon FireRed [ukoplays]

It felt so real. I went on a huge adventure through all of Kanto and I caught so many Pokémon and I became the Pokémon League Champion... but now I've woken up back in Pallet Town like none of it ever happened. It hurts. I miss WaterBlue... and 69. Nice... and BertNErnie...

In this episode, we speedrun from Pallet Town to Lt. Surge, building up a brand new team! But why?

In 2021, I started ukoplays Pokémon LeafGreen with the express goal of catching everything possible and completing the Sevii Islands, which I've never done before. Unbeknownst to me at the time, I made a fatal error... I failed to ensure that the game would be able to save correctly. Thus, after defeating the Elite Four and watching the credits, it booted me out to the title screen, rendering my save file inaccessible, and leaving me unable to continue to the post-game like I've been looking forward to for so long. So... what's the move?

We're startin' over from scratch, baby! This cursed outcome has left me with the opportunity to figure out that trading between FireRed and LeafGreen IS in fact possible, with the right emulator and the right roms. This playthrough of FireRed is gonna be truncated to prevent it from being too redundant--I'll only be showing key moments such as Gym Leader fights and other boss battles, as well as whenever I catch FireRed exclusive Pokémon that were inaccessible to me during LeafGreen. Meanwhile I'll be using some of my downtime to grind my way exactly back to where I was in LeafGreen so that I can continue from there once I'm done doing everything I need to in FireRed. Here's to our ever-expanding journey!
