BUILD PROCESS
The main cabinet is made using 18mm MDF glued and screwed together. This gets a primer coat and then painted gloss white as a finish.

The rear panel is removable and slides into dados cut into the cabinet sides. It is made from 12mm MDF and finished in the same way.

The cabinet has sections underneath the main area for the printer power supply and a drawer, as well as cutouts between the sections to allow for routing cables.

The door is made with a solid Oak frame, joined using mitres, and a sheet of 4mm perspex glued in place with CA glue.

The enclosure also has a MDF and Plywood drawer with a solid oak front panel and satin chrome handle. It is fitting using 450mm soft-close drawer runners and sits flush with the cabinet front when closed.

All the solid wood is finished with OSMO Polyx Satin finish.

I fitted a set of LED strip lights inside the main compartment and routed the cables out of the back along with the main power supply leads.

The whole build took about 2 months overall (not full-time!) and was made using materials I mostly had on hand, apart from the perspex and drawer hardware so ended up being quite cheap all in all.
