'Locked Sitaram Kesri in bathroom…' PM Modi recalls ‘humiliation’ faced by ex-Congress president

Basti (UP), May 22 (ANI): While addressing a public meeting in Uttar Pradesh’s Basti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 22, recalled alleged humiliation faced by Sitaram Kesri when was removed from the Congress President post. It is alleged that in 1998, the then-Congress President Sitaram Kesri was locked in a bathroom until Sonia Gandhi took over the charge as the Congress president.
“This is the same Congress that doesn't follow its Party’s Constitution, Sitaram Kesri who came from a backward section in Bihar, was the Congress President, Why this party is soo much upset of the Backward sections… One fine evening Madam Sonia’s team entered the Congress office and locked Sitaram Kesri in a bathroom… He was thrown on the footpaths and in no time Madam Sonia Gandhi was declared the Congress President,” said Narendra Modi
