I know, I know… that sounds controversial, but bare with me…

I was sitting in the studio with the legendary Oteil Burbridge and we were deep in discussion about, well as you’d expect, bass! ;)

He was sharing his philosophies on learning the bass, and his own journey with it when he dropped a super insightful comment…

He said, “Everything started to make much more sense when I got my first 6 string bass”… he then went on to talk about how, for him, it proved to be a great learning tool that gave him the ability to start seeing harmony on the fingerboard in a much clearer way.

Oh, and wait till you hear the story about being on tour with Victor Wooten, it’s awesome!
