LIVE: US Congress resumes debate after Capitol assault
US lawmakers resumed their Joint Session of Congress to approve results of the recent presidential elections after proceedings were violently disrupted. Earlier in the day, radical supporters of President Donald Trump broke into the Capitol building. The House of Representatives will return to debate on an objection to several Electoral College votes returned by states which were in favour of president-elect Joe Biden.
