Hi! My name is Christy! My story is about me and my mother who did something wrong to me but… at the end it turned out that she was absolutely right.

I‘m already twelve, but my Mom still thinks that I’m a little girl. If I even make one little mistake, she criticizes me saying that I behave “like a kid.” And after that she wants me to talk to her! Well, we talk to each other, of course, but when my mother asks me to tell her my secrets, I get so annoyed!

I have one person that I share my thoughts and problems with. It’s one of my classmates, her name Mary. You know, we're totally inseparable, just like sisters! And there are no secrets between us!
Actually, it was Mary who drew me into this story.

During that day we had a literature class together and Mary was completely ENTHRALLED by something on her smartphone, so much so that she did not even notice that the teacher was talking to her. So the teacher got mad and confiscated her phone 'til the end of the school day.

Mary was on pins and needles all the way through the end of the lesson and barely waited for a break to borrow my phone.
Well, Mary is like a sister to me but... my phone?! It’s hard to imagine anything more personal than that. So I agreed, but only if she explained to me why she needed it. Mary replied that she would tell me everything, but only if I promised not to laugh. Of course, I agreed.
And then Mary told me that about a week ago, she had gotten a letter from a witch. THE. REAL. WITCH. I did not think that this was funny. I actually thought that my Mary was going nuts. Well, she explained that she was not going crazy or dumb enough to believe that someone who just signs letter “Witch” is the real thing… But she offered Mary a fortune-telling session!! Absolutely free and online! Mary did not believe her but got curious about what she might say.
“Past or Present?” – the Witch asked and Mary choose her past. The Witch got silent for some time and then… she told Mary some things that she could not have known! For example, that Mary’s mother is British and that she is still Her Majesty’s subject. It’s not a dark secret… but Mary’s family doesn’t talk about that at all!

Mary was a little stunned and not knowing what to do next, she asked the Witch to tell her something about the future… And at that moment the teacher confiscated her smartphone!

I was very intrigued and asked my friend if I could join their conversation. The Witch did not object and soon… she'd made a prediction for both of us!

It said: “The surprise that you are preparing for someone dear to you will be spoiled for reasons that are out of your control.”
We were shocked! The thing is that we have REALLY been preparing a surprise for her little brother’s birthday – we were going to take him to the amusement park.

We decided to just wait and see whether it was a joke or if the Witch from the internet was really… a witch?
And she was not wrong! On the day of Mary’s brother’s birthday there was a storm warning and the park was closed!

So Mary and I were now believers in the magical powers of this stranger. And thankfully the Witch promised to help us realize our deepest dreams. But we had to do exactly as she told us and, of course, nobody was supposed to know that we were performing a ritual, otherwise the magic would fail. We willingly promised her to keep everything a secret!

The ritual involved some good deeds that Mary and I had to do - your dreams only come true if you are a good person.
The first task was “to give a new life to an old thing.” I went searching in the cellar in order to find something suitable… but my mother is so thorough! She had literally found a purpose everything that she considered not useful. I could not think of anything better than to take a plastic bottle and make a flower out of it.

The Witch repeated several times that we had to do everything exactly as she said, otherwise nothing will happen. And just to be on the safe side, I painted my plastic flower.

The Witch said that the energies were starting to align.Which meant we were doing everything right, but now, in order to perform the second part of the ritual, we had to refrain from eating meat and sweets… for a week! I have to admit, this was much harder than cutting a flower from a plastic bottle, but Mary and I were determined so we successfully completed this part too!

And then the Witch told us that now we deserved to receive the final instructions for completing the ritual.
