British Airways 777 - Awesome GE-90 power takeoff to Kingston Jamaica

I've been meaning to master and upload this video for almost a year now.

It complements my previous Jamaica landing video which I uploaded back in January 2015.

This video shows the takeoff of the BA2263 service from London Gatwick to Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston Jamaica.

I captured this video using my current combination of a Sony NEX-5T along with an external microphone. The external microphone does full justice to the sounds of engine startup and takeoff roll.

The microphone was set to wide, meaning it captured a significant portion of the ambient cabin noise. The voice you hear at the beginning is that of a lady who was sat in the seat next to me. At 04:18 you can hear one of the cabin crew advising her that her handbag needed to be stowed in the overhead locker :)

The flight was quite heavily loaded and the takeoff was powerful. Unfortunately I was unable to record the Cabin Manager's welcome as it came a long time after the takeoff and by then my camera had overheated and shut down :(

However I was able to capture the Captain's flight update as I know from experience that this comes towards the end of the overfly of Haiti. I was ready and waiting :) Unfortunately the quality of the Captain's PA link wasn't that good - you are hearing the audio exactly as it sounded - still you can make out a fair bit if you listen intently.

Don't miss the cameo by the Virgin Atlantic 747 G-VROM "Barbarella" at 08:52. According to www.thevssource.com this was flight VS63 on its way to Havana Cuba.
