“We want our children to live:” Zelenskyy delivers emotional address as Russia-Ukraine war rages

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered an emotional address to European Lawmakers on Tuesday, as Russian military closes in on the capital city of Ukraine.

“We want our children to live,” Zelenskyy said, speaking about the 16 children he said were killed Monday.

He countered Putin’s claims that Russia is targeting only military infrastructure.

“Where are our children? What military factories do they work at? On which rockets? Maybe they ride tanks? He killed 16 children yesterday,” he said.

Zelenskyy urged the European Union to “prove that you are with us,” a day after Kyiv officially asked to join the bloc.

“Do prove that you are with us. Do prove that you will not let us go. Do prove that you are indeed Europeans and then life will win over death and light will win over darkness,” he said.
