Anthony Albanese criticised over Chinese fighter jet response

Broadcaster and wordsmith Kel Richards has criticised Prime Minister Anthony Albanese over his response to reports China had dropped flares close to an Australian Navy helicopter.

Mr Albanese condemned China, labelling their actions on Saturday as ‘unprofessional and unacceptable’.

Mr Richards criticised the Prime Minister's use of the word “unprofessional”.

“It’s the wrong word, it is clearly the wrong word," he told Sky News host Peta Credlin

“Unprofessional means accidental incompetence, that is somebody who didn’t have the skills to get it right.

“I mean it almost suggests that the Chinese fighter was flown by a trainee who pressed the wrong button, that’s what the word unprofessional means.

“So, it's not a proper response at all.”
