Matching Motor, ESC, & Battery

http://rc-help.com

I'm back and with another great video. In this video, I will show you how to match your Brushless Motor, with your ESC, and with your Battery. The equasions are simple, and it will save you a lot of headache in the future. If you have any questions about any of this, come on over and post up on our forum. We are always there to help you.

To figure out your amp rating on your motor with only the watts, you simply divide motor watts by battery volts. To figure out your watts if all you have is amps, you multiply motor amps by battery volts.

To figure out the amp rating on a battery, you multiply the MAH by the C rating, then divide that number by 1000. this will give you the amp rating for constant draw out of your battery. If your motor amp rating is close to your battery amp rating, then you can over heat the battery. I would put a 10 amp cushion on the battery. Lets say your motor draws 45 amps, you will want a 55 amp rate battery. If your ESC is only 50 amps, then it could get hot as well, and I would suggest a 60 amp.

One question I get asked a lot is, "Can I run a larger battery C rating without hurting anything?". The answer is YES. Your motor will only pull the power it needs. The battery is not forcing the power into the motor, the motor is pulling the power from the battery.

I hope I was able to help some of you out with this. Please let me know if you have any questions about any of this by posting up on our forum!
