Is this Walmart Schwinn MTB worth upgrading?

With all the spare parts in my garage I couldn't resist pimping out the Schwinn Axum to see how far we can push this platform.

Other details:
Tapered headtube so standard forks should be compatible.
180mm front rotor, 160mm rear.
Internal width of the rims measured close to 30.5(!).
Weighed the following components - Tire 1090g, tubes 70g, front fork 2850g, front wheel 1490g.
