'Being ignored': Ipswich Mayor stands with constituents over foul odour
The Queensland Government is being criticised for inaction over a foul odour wafting from Ipswich waste facilities.
25,000 residents have complained to authorities about the toxic smell, claiming it's leaving them struggling to breathe.
In just the month of August, the Queensland government received over 1,000 complaints from residents.
Ipswich locals are growing increasingly terrified of the potential health consequences as illness such as vomiting and breaking out into hives have begun.
According to Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding, it feels like the community is “being ignored”.
