Renaissance Fabrics offers a variety of woolens and worsted flannels, broadcloths, twills and blends. https://www.renaissancefabrics.net/product-category/wool/
Burnley and Trobridge as well as WM. Booth, Draper cater to later period reenactors, but they have plenty of wools that would be appropriate for the 16th century. Also a note that wool fabric called “stuffs” refers to worsted wools. https://burnleyandtrowbridge.com/pages/wool-wool-blends and https://www.wmboothdraper.com/
B.BLack and Sons is located in the LA fashion district, but they also sell online. I would note that they have a better selection if you go to the store than they do online. The owner is awesome and if you want something and don’t see it listed, ask about it and they may be able to get it for you. https://www.bblackandsons.com/
If you live in Minnesota in the twin cities area there is a shop called SR Harris and their wool selection is awe-inspiring...especially to this california girl! They don’t have online ordering, but I have been told you can order over the phone. So, if you know what you are looking for, you can call them to see if they have it. Or if you live in the area, definitely check it out. Also, I met the owner the last time I was there and he was a wonderful character of a man. https://srharrisfabric.com/
