Good news and bad news to sensor cleaning

As in all RV’s we have owned in the past, holding tank sensors will eventually give false readings. Some sooner than later. The black tank on our 5th wheel has never been 100% accurate, in fact it only worked once when we attempted a sensor cleaning last year somewhere around South Dakota… Lasted all of two weeks...
In this episode we try out a product called Sensor Power that we picked up at Orangewood RV Center in Arizona. We also tried a method of dumping hot water down the galley drain with Dawn Dishwashing soap. We still have one more method to try but we need to wait until we don’t need to climb any mountain ranges. (trying to keep the rig light for the mountain climbing.)
Eventually we will be trying that method of filling the black tank halfway full (once again how do we know it’s half if the sensors don't work). And then dumping about 20 to 30 lbs of ice down the toilet before a long drive. The agitation of the drive should cause the ice to bang against the walls of the holding tank, knocking off any debri and waist.
Whether you learn from successes or failures I hope this video proves to be useful. :-)
