Mortal Engines is a movie that became one of the biggest box office flops in recent years, losing over 100 million dollars. As a film, it arguably has a myriad of problems, but perhaps the biggest problem of all has to do with its obsession with size. In today's episode of Anatomy Of A Failure, let's take a closer look at Mortal Engines and compare it to Lord of the Rings, in order to see what pitfalls exist when launching a massive epic action fantasy franchise, and how to avoid them.

This is a good movie visually, but that might be the only positive. We'll see what happens with Mortal Engines 2. At least we have a new Joker movie trailer and Avengers Endgame to look forward to.
