iButton Locker (1-wire DS9092 arduino)

iButton fob keys are super common here in the UK - once you start noticing them. I'd say most POS systems use them - but it was the swimming lockers at a hotel we stayed at that got me curious.

I wanted to investigate the 1-wire system using an arduino. An electronics project was a good choice at the time, because I was between workshops.

A big thank you to David B for the lazer cutting.

The project uses:
- Hot TM probe DS9092 iButton reader with LED M98
- Mini DC 6V/12V Electric Lock Smart Electromagnetic Lock for Door Cabinet Drawer
- DS1990A-F5 Tm Card Ibutton Tag

The power comes from a 12V wallwart that I recycled from a defunct BT Homehub.
It runs through a DC-DC 4-38V to 3.3V Voltage Converter Module to power an arduino nano, but I also switch the 12V feed using a PN2222 NPN transistor to selectively power and open the electromagnetic lock.

The build video felt a little boring, so I've tried to brighten it up with a few cameos.
Maker Jnr joined me 'to help', so there is some footage of the back of his head.

I also did a poor imitation of Frank Howarth (and my Wife) with some stop-motion.
