Cathy Parkes BSN, RN, CWCN, PHN covers Integumentary (Skin) and Hematologic (Blood) Cancers. The Medical-Surgical Immune System video tutorial series is intended to help RN and PN nursing students study for your nursing school exams, including the ATI, HESI and NCLEX.

In this video, Cathy covers Integumentary (skin) cancers and Hematologic (blood) cancers. She discusses prevention of skin cancer, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Cathy shares pictures of these 3 types of cancer. She also discusses the ABCDE assessment to identify melanoma. Cathy then covers the 3 main types of hematologic cancer: leukemia, lymphoma (including Hodgkin's and Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma), and multiple myeloma. She discusses treatment options for hematologic cancers and key risk factors present in patients with hematologic cancer: anemia, thrombocytopenia, and neutropenia.
