Jeep Liberty CRD Intercooler Replacement P0299 Turbo Underboost

It's BACK! Can you believe it?! This 200(5) Jeep Liberty Turbo Diesel refuses to give in on it's turbo under boost condition. If you watched part 1, you know we solved a major oil leak from the EGR elbow and deleted the EGR valve. With that said, the issue continued and here we are, back in the shop continuing the effort to keep this CRD on the road and in good running form. LET'S GET STARTED!

What are we doing today?
We are going to replace the turbo intercooler on this Jeep Liberty CRD.

What are we using to complete the work?
Common hand tools!

Do you have any concerns about today's work?
No concerns today! We simply want to get this resolved and move onto the next job.

Why did you decide to do this?
Because deleting the EGR valve and resolving a major oil leak from the EGR elbow didn't resolve the P0299 Turbo Underboost Condition.

How are you going to fix this issue?
Inspect the vehicle's EGR, exhaust, fuel, and computer system for issues.

What's your favorite thing about working on diesel Jeeps?
We like to keep these older CRD's on the road. They run 30+ on highway MPG, have part & full time 4WD, and are modern enough to still be a daily driver.

What would you improve, if anything?
My ability to resolve this P0299 condition more efficiently. ;)

Any additional thoughts?
We complete this work in a small 2 stall garage with limited space. You can do anything you would like to do, no matter the space you have, just plan accordingly and adjust your plans to the size of your workspace. We Believe In YOU!

What's coming to the shop in the future?
John Deere 1023e with a throttling issue.

Are you able to do lots of work in a limited space?
Yes, without question. The biggest issues I face in our 2 stall garage is organization. Keeping the workspace organized and both stalls clear of clutter really helps with motivation, which then helps with productivity. Basically, if I see a clean workspace, I'm much more ready to dive into a project or even just scheduled maintenance like today's oil change.
